Becoming a Multimillionaire: Top 5 Richest People in the U.S.
The Forbes 2022 list includes the 20 multimillionaires who amass the most wealth in the American country. Every year, royalty and dictators, whose wealth comes from their political position, are excluded. In some cases, family groups that share income are included.
This year, there is a great switch. And there is a change in the number 1 for the first time in 4 years. Who is number 1? Read on to find out.
- 5. Warren Buffett. $97 billion. The Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate’s CEO owns companies from textiles to railroads to batteries. Buffett’s interest in investing has brought him to number 5 on the U.S. Forbes 2022 list.
- 4. Larry Ellison. $101 billion. Less known than the others, Larry Ellison is the CEO of Oracle Corporation, a multinational technology company focused mainly on software development. Among its best-known services is the Oracle cloud.
- 3. Bill Gates. $106 billion. The founder of Microsoft ceased to be the richest person in the world in 2017 when the position was snatched from him by the current number 2. Today, his efforts are mostly devoted to philanthropy, promoting global education and health, and fighting climate change.
- 2. Jeff Bezos. $151 billion. Founder, chairman and CEO of Amazon. He was the richest American until this year, when he fell from his position. He owes his wealth to the influential company he runs, considered by many to be the largest company in the world.
- 1. Elon Musk. $251 billion. Founder and CEO of SpaceX and also CEO of Tesla, among other companies. His great wealth has expanded in recent years thanks to the increase in Tesla shares. Not even the acquisition of Twitter for $44 billion has stopped him from topping the Forbes 2022 list.

The All-New Multimillionaire
While it’s been a tough year for all pockets, not everyone is suffering in the same way. 20 people have become billionaires and made the Forbes 2022 list for the first time.
Among the most well-known members are sports personalities such as Woody Johnson, owner of the New York Jets. Also joining the club is Todd Boehly, the current owner of Chelsea FC. However, most of the nouveau riche come from the world of finance.
More curiosities? The new billionaire with the most zeros in his bank account is Autry Stephens of Endeavour Energy Resources, the largest private oil producer in the US. The youngest of the new additions is only 29 years old, his name is Gary Wang and he is the co-founder of FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange program.
Being a Multimillionaire Takes Less Money
